My Story
Brandon grew up in Overland Park, KS. He graduated in May 2021 from Harding University in Arkansas with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He then worked as a research technician in the Zanders lab for two years. During that time, he gained an appreciation for genomics, especially for repetitive regions of the genome such as centromeres and rDNA. He enjoys exploring genomic data to learn about how life works and how it has evolved. Now, Brandon is a graduate student in the Zanders lab, where he studies the regulation and evolution of 5S rDNA, an essential component of the ribosome.
In his free time, Brandon likes camping, reading, pondering the metaphysical properties of the universe, and thinking about the potential for life on extraterrestrial planets and moons.
